Wear It Pink Day
Anyone visiting Edenderry on Friday 18th October might have been very confused to see a lot of pink on display, including ON the staff!
The reason for this is that the staff embraced a very special 'Wear it Pink Day' for the charity 'Breast Cancer Now'. In recent years, breast cancer has affected three members of our school staff, and it continues to affect many women every day throughout this community.
In the past year Mrs. Kennedy has taken on a volunteer role for the charity. Steered by world class research and powered by support, their aim is to make sure that by 2050 everyone diagnosed with breast cancer lives, and is supported to live well.
So, on Friday 18th, the staff prepared and then enjoyed an amazing coffee morning during their usual breaktimes and raised over £800 for the charity, an incredible amount! As the name suggests, we all wore something pink – yes, even the male members of our staff!
Thank you so much to every member of staff for your contribution to a special day and for your amazing generosity.
