Radio Remembrance
Edenderry PS welcomed much respected BFBS (British forces broadcasting service) journalist, Ms Fiona Cameron, to school today. Accompanied by Portadown's own and NI Royal British legion President, Maj. Philip Morrison, Ms Cameron came to report on our school's long standing traditon of commemorating Remembrance week.
After a brief tour of the school and meeting among others, Mr Winston Churchill (a.k.a Alex) and other P4 wartime figures, the two dignatories went on to meet the P7s. A warm welcome of a press junket awaited the veteran RBL President - with P7 challenging our visitor with a wide range of thoughful questioning. All under the watchful eye of Ms Cameron, who recorded the session for her Sunday lunchtime broadcast. The P7s engaged with Mr Morrison for most of the morning and the experienced speaker was much taken by the quality of interviewing delivered up by our pupils.
Next was a break and refreshments before Ms Cameron and Maj. Morrison went on to join the audience for the P4's Wartime homage. Despite being labelled as a dress rehersal for the school's performance the P4s astounded and impressed our visitors - who left with more recorded material for this Sunday's upcoming broadcast.
A big thanks to both Maj. Morrison and Ms Cameron attending and facilitating our P4 assembly and P7 junket (the first of this week!!) More this Friday 11th.
You can tune into the recorded show this Sunday 13th November at 13.00 on Sky Channel 0211 or online @bfbs.com and hear what was said and sung.
