P7 have been learning how the use of Palm Oil is leading to the loss of habitat for the endangered Orangutan.
Palm oil is widely used in household products such as soap, shampoo and toothpaste and in some of our favourite foods - chocolate, ice-cream and biscuits!
Palm Oil farmers are chopping down trees in the rainforests of Borneo to gain more land to grow the palm oil. These trees are where the orangutan live.
P7 have drawn posters to encourage you to think about what you are buying and to look out for products with sustainable palm oil.
