Our P6s have enjoyed a wonderful first day at beautiful Castlewellan Forest Park. After a tour of the historic castle, we grabbed some lunch before heading out on a Nature Scavenger Hunt around the lake. Mrs. Black and Miss Gordon's group won the prize for finding and collecting the most items on our list. Tom also won a spot prize for finding a blue beatle; the most challenging item on the list!
We then enjoyed a lovely dinner of chicken nuggets, chips and beans (or a vegetarian alternative) although clearing our own dinner tables was a bit of an eye-opener for some. You parents and carers will be hoping this is a new skill carried home!
After dinner we got to spend some of our money at the castle tuck shop before each room prepared their chosen entertainment for this evening's 'Edenderry's Got Talent' show. Two groups even got the golden buzzer!
After our performances, we changed into our PJs and headed to the cellar for a film. After that, we’ll head up to our rooms for some sleep...we hope!
It has been a glorious day up here and everyone is safe, happy and having fun...including the staff!
