October Fun in the ASC 🎃🥦🥕🌽

We have had another great month in the ASC 🤩

Our classroom jobs have started - we now are in charge of watering the plants, setting out the chairs, helping with preparing snack, washing dishes, turning the lights off to save energy, tidying up and lots lots more! Such fabulous busy bees 🐝 

Our Topic has been focusing on Autumn and Harvest; discovering lots of Signs of Autumn in our beautiful school grounds. We have loved all of the crunchy leaves around, the minibeasts, the seeds, the squirrels and gathered so many Autumn treasures to play with. 

We picked apples from our orchard and used them in lots of ways in our learning. We painted with them, described them, chopped them, decorated with them and most importantly, tasted them 😋😋.

We also made some yummy soup in our mud station, chopping the seasonal veg very carefully and adding lots of ingredients and herbs. We created some funny faces based on the Artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo, using the veg as our facial features. We helped to carve a happy pumpkin and explored the textures and feelings of the inner seeds. Some of us loved it, some of us didn’t 🤪🎃

We also had a visit from the School Dentist and we were so brave. We are absolutely loving our Yoga and OT sessions, too.  

A busy month with lots of fun, creativity, learning and exploring. I’m sure everyone is ready for their half-term break 🙂 Enjoy!
