Mr Doyle's retirement letter
Dear Parent,
Tomorrow, Thursday 28th September 2023, marks my last ‘school’ day as principal of Edenderry Primary School. It has been my privilege to lead this illustrious school over the past two decades. I am very proud of all the pupils and their achievements. Their manners, work ethic and friendly nature are a credit to you all as parents. I am very conscious that the school would not function without your support of your children in every aspect of their daily school lives. This unstinting support is greatly appreciated by all members of staff.
I would like to thank each one of you who has taken time to stop and wish me well in my retirement, sent in a best wishes card or passed on a retirement gift to myself. I have been humbled by your thoughtfulness and kind words. Every act of kindness is much appreciated.
I leave with very happy memories of events, school trips, sporting endeavours and success on the ‘stage’. However standing alongside these memories on an equal footing are those special moments in the routine course of the day in which your children through their humour and kindness to each other and members of staff have made that particular day special to me and touched my heart.
Wishing everyone in the ‘Edenderry Family’ every success and happiness in the future.
Yours sincerely,
Stephen Doyle
Principal
