Extra-Curricular Activities for Spring and Summer 2024
We are delighted that every single teacher in the school will again contribute voluntarily to after-school activities.
After discussion, we have now drafted this new extra-curricular schedule for the second and third term of this year. In response to recent parental views, this schedule now also includes free ‘alternative experiences’ for all P4 to P7 children as well as free P6/P7 and parent-funded P4/P5 sports.
It is important to note the following:
- The school will now return to providing extra-curricular activities only to those finishing at 3.00 pm.
- To ensure an appropriate teacher/pupil ratio for the safe management of the group and potential accidents, all outdoor activities will now be limited to a maximum of two-year groups at any one time and be supervised by at least two members of staff.
- To ensure there is always an indoor alternative, only one sport will be provided on any one day.
- We have insufficient teachers to offer free extra-curricular sporting activities for all children, however, we still want to provide the opportunity for all P4 to P7 children to access sport. Therefore, to widen our scope, P4/P5 children who still wish to access extra-curricular sport can do this similarly to this term, through a £20 half-termly payment. The provider for the remainder of this school year will be Sports City.
Please note that pupil numbers are limited for some activities. Attendance at any extra-curricular activity is dependent on receipt of the relevant form.
