2020 Garden Olympics for all Edenderry PS Pupils
We first made our parents and pupils aware of this last week in line with our Fun Sports Week however...
Registration is still open for all Edenderry PS pupils
We would suggest this as a valuable activity resource throughout the month of June!
--------------------------------
At Edenderry PS we are encouraging any interested pupils and parents to take a look at the information shared below.
The 2020 Garden Olympics is an event and challenge running across June to encourage children to get active and to keep a log of their activities for the next 30 days.
The challenge is being hosted and delivered by ActivityNI in collaboration with the NSPCC to help promote Childline (to spread awareness of the amazing service they offer to children who may need support during these difficult times).
Participants will be encouraged to simply complete any activity that gets them moving (Running, Dancing, Football) or thinking (Piano, Art, Singing). For support there will also be daily activity videos posted on their Social Media & YouTube account to inspire children and act as a follow-along guide.
Additionally, to help motivate participants, a range of sporting athletes have been lined up to give words of encouragement during the event.
The event is completely FREE (for both school and pupils) and there are also a wide range of rewards and prizes for those who complete the challenges.
There is an option to pay £3.50 to guarantee a participant receives a medal at the end of the event with all profits going to NSPCC but this is your own choice and not compulsory for taking part.
This event has also been designed to help motivate children to continue to look after their physical and mental health.
For pupils of Edenderry PS, we think this is another great idea and we would encourage parents to read over the information below and then follow the instructions to sign up your child. Signup for each child is an individual choice made by a parent or guardian.
We have already registered our interest as a school in the event with ActivityNI and registration is now open for any pupils of Edenderry PS who may wish to take part.
This event will further support, work well alongside and build upon our own upcoming School Fun Sports Week on 1st - 5th June which is being delivered in partnership with the IFA.
We would really encourage you to sign up - enjoy!
